IMPERIUM GALACTICA
Iran or Persia is right there in the middle of
that galaxy, searching for immortality, researching on invinciblity. Iran is right here in the form of the Solarian Federation
in Imperium Galactica II. The planets of Iran or Persia are right here; Persei 1, Persei 2, Persei 3 ... However they might
be under the control of other space empires. No trouble, Iran can always retake its planets. The cities of Iran on these planets should
flourish with science and culture again so that the Solarian Federation, the hope of human civilization can discover immortality
and triumph. Imperium Galactica II - Alliances, is
the sequel to the highly acclaimed Imperium Galactica. Drawing on the many of the successful elements of its predecessor,
it takes the concept to a new level by seamlessly integrating different gaming styles into a unique and beautiful 3D interface.
The game is an exploration, research, strategy game, which is set in real-time, with real time space and ground battles. The
interface is the first thing that will strike you about IG2. It really is unique, pre-empting intuitive 3D displays that we
could be using for real in the future. The complexity and subtlety of the game is hidden behind this interface and "hand
holding" options (such as the interactive tutorial) so that even the novice player can immediately be drawn into and then
operate in the IG2 universe. From a vantage point millions of miles away in space, you can seamlessly move into the heat of
a battle and observe the actions of a small fighter ship, only a few meters long. You can move through the atmospheres of
worlds and explore their varying landscapes and weather conditions, all in 3D. You can construct colonies on these worlds
and use them to produce materials that sustain your empire. Construct research laboratories and view your designs in the 3D
realm before mass producing them. Equip them visually by dragging components using the same 3D interface, You can engage in
diplomacy with other races, trade with them, war with them and even spy on them. You can choose to participate in all these
features or let the computer manage some of them for you. You can even play through the story arcs. Because of the fast
pace of Imperium Galactica II you can pause the game any time you wish, and issue commands to you fleets or advisors
without having to worry about time passing. Once you resume time again, these commands will be carried out immediately- this
way you can take your time to plan your strategies. There are three main story arcs in IG2. Each from the viewpoint of a different
race. There are: The Human race - the Solarian empire, searching for lost items that may contain the secrets of immortality.
The humans main strength lies in fast research, and they can be said to be average in other areas. The hostile Kra'hen race,
warlike beings from another galaxy whose sole aim is to expand their empire and die for their incorporeal God-Emperor. They
are strong in military, but cannot use spying or diplomacy. Failure is an option not tolerated by this empire, you must use
all your resources to crush your enemies. The Shinari, a race of cunning merchants and politicians who use more subtle methods
to achieve their simple aim of profiteering! Their strength lies in spying and trade. Weaker in battles than any of the races,
they will have to hire mercenaries and buy alien technologies through trade to survive. Each of these story arcs takes many
hours to play through and each provides a different challenge and approach to the game. Within each arc are numerous missions
and sub-plots that may be pursued. "Imperium Galactica II" could be considered as one of the best and most intelligent
game programmings. It takes the player to dimensions and worlds that hardly any other game can take.
